ÆTHER — Marx-Engels-Forum
ÆTHER is a walk-through holographic fog and light sanctuary: a night-only installation where visitors enter a field of mist, beams and spatial sound, and light appears to hover in the air, dissolving and reforming around the body — a visitor highlight of the Festival of Lights Berlin 2024.
ÆTHER lets visitors literally immerse themselves in light. Sheets and beams of coloured light are drawn through fog until they become tangible: walls, tunnels and floating shapes that people walk into, touch and photograph from inside. Spherical sound rounds off the experience.
The installation was one of the visitor highlights of the Festival of Lights Berlin 2024 at the Marx-Engels-Forum, where RE:SORB had already brought the location back into the festival the year before with ‘Lumisphere’.
