DUAL — Bolshoi Theatre

RE:SORB’s show ‘DUAL’ won the Art Vision Classic competition at Moscow’s Circle of Light festival 2019 on the façade of the Bolshoi Theatre.

‘DUAL’ won the Art Vision Classic competition at the Circle of Light festival in Moscow in 2019 — one of the world’s largest international projection mapping contests. The show was projected onto the monumental columned façade of the Bolshoi Theatre on Theatre Square.

Building on the studio’s winning entry of the previous year, ‘DUAL’ takes the theatre’s neoclassical architecture apart and reassembles it: the portico, columns and pediment become moving parts of a constantly transforming stage, playing with two opposing states of the same building.

It was RE:SORB’s second consecutive win at the Bolshoi Theatre.
